When heavy equipment is utilized around facilities, subcontractors and employees need to be aware of the obstructions in the area and understand the effect on the facility and any hazards generated if the obstruction is damaged, must ensure Job Safety Analyses (JSA) are written to mitigate these types of events and need to understand and implement the hazard eliminating actions that are within the JSA. A best work practice is to place flagging on and/or barriers around items such as guy-wires to help ensure critical features are not damaged and hazards are mitigated.
