Some aluminum products are manufactured from alloy ingots and castings that contain low concentrations of beryllium. When these products are worked (drilled, grinded, machined, or otherwise manipulated), beryllium containing dust can become airborne, resulting in potential beryllium exposure and contamination of the work area. Work activities involving these products require specific considerations to minimize exposure and spread of contamination.
