A stop work was issued when it was determined that radios operated in close proximity to a 3M Adflo Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) caused the PAPR to ramp down. The PAPR blower unit will ramp down when the radio button is keyed and then ramp up when the button is released. Follow-up testing indicated that the PAPR blower units are affected by radios operated within one foot in close proximity. The project has contacted the manufacturer and working with them to evaluate and resolve the concern.
