At Brookhaven National Laboratory, a vehicle was pulling away from the north side of building 526 when it struck a 3' test well. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the right front bumper and there was minor damage to the well. There were no injuries reported. This and many other similar events could have been prevented by using the "Circle of Safety."

Lessons Learned: A "Circle of Safety" -- walking around a vehicle to check for safety concerns before driving -- increases your situational awareness and may mitigate accidents or events, even if you park your vehicle for a short period of time.
