At the Advanced Test Reactor a drain line from the Reactor Control Room breakroom sink to the sewer system became separated after being plunged due to a clog in the line. The drain pipe runs from the breakroom, inside a confinement area, through a confinement wall into the ATR canal area (outside the confinement area). Part of the piping separated enough to allow water flow outside the drain line onto the floor in the canal area. This separation in the pipe caused an unanalyzed, untested configuration of confinement.
