At about 9:00 a.m. May 10, Hanford employees began filling a collapsed section of a rail car tunnel that partially collapsed near the PUREX facility on the Hanford Site. This video shows an excavator placing soil into the collapsed area of the tunnel, as well as equipment in use to control any dust. Workers operating the equipment are wearing protective suits and are breathing filtered air. Also, additional measures are being taken to ensure workers are safe, such as restricting access to the immediate area and air monitoring.
