Cathodic Protection System drawings were not included in the evaluation and approval of an excavation/penetration permit. While augering the last hole location for concrete piers, operations personnel noticed a wire and caution sheeting on the auger bit. Lesson Learned: When developing an Excavation Penetration Permit ensure that all associated components of the mechanical and electrical structures identified in the permit are included to ensure damage does not occur during excavating activities.
