The plastic wrapping and wooden pallet beneath the riser extension (also known as a top hat) caught on fire due to sun shining on the interior shiny surface causing intense heat. The focal point of the reflected sunlight was measured to be at least 1200 degrees Fahrenheit with a Bullard T4 Thermal Image Camera.
