Operations personnel were in the process of manually positioning a trailer mounted diesel pump on the dam area of the New Fire Pond to pump down the level of the pond. While positioning the pump, two Heavy Equipment Operators lost control of the pump and it rolled into the pond and overturned. A sheen developed on the pond from diesel fuel leaking from around the fuel cap area of the pump. Lessons Learned: The potential for the trailer moving toward the pond was discussed during the IHA/SAFER review; however, the extent of the incline was not perceived to be sufficient to cause movement and, as a result, the control that was put in place was inadequate.
