A questioning attitude and conservative decision making are key elements in protecting workers when working with hazardous materials and equipment. Workers need to trust their instincts when something does not seem right. Several times, workers questioned supervisors to ensure that power to a light pole was deactivated before performing demolition work. The supervisors were working off inaccurate drawings.
