Operators are trained to ensure loads are lifted in a manner that does not exceed the capacity of the power industrial truck. Loads that are too heavy for one piece of equipment are sometimes managed by spreading the load to more than one piece of equipment to support safe movement within the capacity limitations of the machine(s). Lessons Learned: Grade changes must be considered to prevent load shift which could transfer most or all the weight of the item being moved to just one piece of equipment.
