On April 18, 2014 a defective scaffolding pole was found at the Salt Waste Processing Facility. One Step, the manufacturer of STEPUP scaffolding based out of Memphis, confirmed the product is theirs. The pole was manufactured at one of their facilities in China in 2011. The several other suspect scaffolding poles are being sent to an independent laboratory to verify the material specifications and tensile and buckling measurements.
