DOE Order 425.1D Readiness Reviews can be a significant management challenge and are often very stressful on organizations. Detailed upfront planning and a rigorous approach to achieving operational readiness are critical prerequisites for successful assessments. The Hanford Tank Operations Contractor (TOC) consistently applies these principles, and recently completed two readiness reviews. These projects successfully obtained startup authorization and no significant issues were encountered during subsequent operations.
