Cartridges for the MSA Optimair TL Powered-Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) can be easily misidentified and the wrong cartridge issued. Both types of cartridges come wrapped in foil with the only distinguishing feature being a small, hard-to-read label on a corner of the foil wrapping. Unwrapped cartridges are also similar in appearance. Although each type of respirator cartridge is required to be color-coded, the labels are small with colors that are not easily distinguishable.
