A contractor was questioned by oversight personnel about whether or not he checked his meter after performing a zero energy test. He stated that he had not and he was unaware of the NFPA 70E standard regarding the second verification test of a meter. The worker also stated that it was not a trade practice to verify the operability of a meter every time it was used. The Safety Task Analysis for this specific task did not call out the verification of the meter.
