A plasma torch being used to cut up material in a glovebox was laid down near some debris from the cutting job. Shortly thereafter the firewatch noticed sparks coming out the bottom of the glovebox. Personnel shut off power to the plasma arc machine while evacuating the room. The resulting minor spread of contamination was cleaned up on the next shift.
